Ad ROI Calculator (“the extension”) is a browser extension for calculating advertising metrics and building media plans. It is published by Vcoder Studio (“we”, “us”). This page explains what the extension stores, what it sends over the internet, and what it does not do. Section 9 covers the web calculators on this site.

In short: your calculations and numbers stay in your browser. We do not run servers that receive your data, we do not use analytics or advertising, and the free version of the extension makes no network requests at all. The only thing the extension ever sends is your PRO license key, and only to Gumroad.

1. What the extension stores on your device

The extension saves the following in your browser’s local storage, on your own computer only:

• your chosen metrics, the values you type in, and which values you have locked;
• saved plans (including any plan names you type, such as a client name);
• your PRO license key and PRO status, if you activated PRO;
• small interface flags (for example, that you closed a tip) and the dates on which you used the extension, which are used only to decide when to show a one-time request for a review.

This data is not sent to us or to anyone else. It stays on your device until you clear it or remove the extension. Uninstalling the extension deletes it.

2. What the extension sends over the internet

Free version: nothing. It works fully offline and makes no network requests.

PRO version: to check that your license is valid, the extension sends your license key to Gumroad (api.gumroad.com) when you activate it and then at most once a day. Gumroad replies whether the key and subscription are active. Like any internet request, this request also reveals technical information such as your IP address to Gumroad.

Your calculations, entered numbers, plan names and client names are never sent.

If the extension cannot reach Gumroad, PRO keeps working for up to 14 days and then pauses until the next successful check.

3. Purchases

PRO is sold through Gumroad. Gumroad handles payment, receipts and the license key, and collects the information needed for that (such as your email address and payment details) under its own privacy policy: gumroad.com/privacy. We do not receive or store your payment card details. We may see purchase information provided to us by Gumroad (for example, the email address of the buyer) and use it only to provide support and to manage licenses.

4. What we do not do

• We do not collect analytics, usage statistics or crash reports.
• We do not use advertising, tracking pixels or third-party scripts.
• We do not use external fonts or other remote resources.
• We do not require an account.
• We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or use it for any purpose unrelated to the extension’s functionality, or to decide on creditworthiness or lending.

5. Permissions the extension asks for

• Side panel: to show the calculator in the browser side panel so it stays open while you switch tabs.
• Storage: to save your metrics, values, plans and license status locally.
• Access to api.gumroad.com: only to check the PRO license key, as described in section 2.

The extension does not read the pages you visit and does not access your browsing history.

6. Your choices

• To delete everything the extension has saved, remove the extension or clear its data in your browser.
• To stop license checks, uninstall the extension or do not activate PRO.
• To cancel a PRO subscription, use the link in your Gumroad receipt or contact Gumroad.
• For questions about data connected to a purchase, contact us at the address below. Data held by Gumroad is governed by Gumroad’s own policy.

7. Children

The extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the extension’s store listing.

9. This website

The calculators on this site run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent to us or stored on any server.

This website (not the extension) uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects data such as the pages you view, your approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This data is processed by Google as described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or your browser’s cookie settings; the calculators keep working. The site shows no advertising.

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages; like any web host, GitHub may record technical data such as your IP address when you load a page, as described in GitHub’s privacy statement.
