Your PDF files

PDF files are opened and processed inside your browser. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.

Text-to-speech voices

Speech is produced by the text-to-speech voices of your browser or operating system. Some browser voices, such as Google voices in Chrome and Natural voices in Microsoft Edge, are online voices: your browser sends the text being read to the voice provider (Google or Microsoft) to create the audio. We never receive this text. Voices installed on your device work locally.

What stays on your device

Your preferred voice for each language, reading speed, the page you stopped on in each document (saved by file name), your license key and your PRO status are stored only in the extension's storage in your browser. They are never sent to us.

License key check (PRO only)

If you buy PRO and enter your license key, the extension sends that key and the product ID to Gumroad (api.gumroad.com), the store that sold it, to confirm the purchase. After that, the extension re-checks the key at most once every 24 hours. Gumroad's handling of purchase data is described in Gumroad's own privacy policy.

Uninstall survey

When you remove the extension, a short optional Google Form opens and asks why you uninstalled. Answering is voluntary, and the form does not ask for your name or email address.

No analytics, no ads

The extension and this website do not use analytics, tracking cookies or advertising.
